Hon. Paul Anderson has been a frequent guest before and after his retirement from the Minnesota Supreme Court. Continuing a recent interview on this show assessing the recently concluded term of the US Supreme Court, Justice Anderson expressed his dismay with several of the Court’s decisions, such as overturning Roe v. Wade, ending legal abortions after half a century, stripping the Environmental Protection Agency of much of its regulatory powers, and abandoning the Establishment Clause protection against the separation of church and state (which he felt ignored the 14th Amendment guarantees of equal protection.)

Paul Werni, 45th Parallel Liquors

45th Parallel Liquors grew to become a go-to location in New Richmond, WI in the fifteen years since it was established by Paul Werni. As the first distillery in the state, the distillery quadrupled in size, added a restaurant, bar, and event space and augmented its initial product, an award-winning vodka, with a variety of other liquors including scotch and bourbon. Its annual Beer and Bluegrass Festival each September is attended by thousands from all over the Midwest. A second location recently opened in Stillwater, MN as a distillery and retail store.

Mike Burbach, VP & Editor of St. Paul Pioneer Press, has been a guest on our show for almost 15 years. In that time, the journalism world has undergone drastic changes, as print papers diminish and services move online. The Pioneer Press has maintained both, although the newsroom has shrunk along with the number of personnel involved in producing the daily paper. Burbach described a typical day in getting the paper out as opposed to how things operated just a few years ago, and working during the pandemic, among other things.

Ron also shares his experience as a trial lawyer and shares his love and knowledge of wine. Ron is also introduced to our viewers as a future guest host.
